Friends of Volunteer Tennessee board members attend Americorps 20th Anniversary event.

On September 12th board members of FVT attended the Americorps 20th Anniversary event. Around 200 AmeriCorps members, Volunteer Tennessee staff and board of directors, AmeriCorps program directors, AmeriCorps Alums, Peace Corps staff, Corporation for National and Community Service Tennessee State staff, Senior Corps volunteers, AmeriCorps VISTA – Volunteers In Service To America members and supporters and friends were represented.
The event on September 12th was a success. Around 200 AmeriCorps members, Volunteer Tennessee staff and board of directors, AmeriCorps program directors, AmeriCorps Alums, Peace Corps staff, Corporation for National and Community Service Tennessee State staff, Senior Corps volunteers, AmeriCorps VISTA – Volunteers In Service To America members and supporters and friends were represented.

FRIENDS approved for the 2014 Combined Federal Campaign

Federal employees are able to participate in payroll-deducted giving through the ‘Combined Federal Campaign’…it is, perhaps, the single largest giving program in the nation.  Nonprofit organizations may apply to be listed in the campaign and the Board is pleased to announce that Friends was approved to join the campaign this year.  The campaign timeframe is roughly September-November 2014 with contributions being collected January-December of 2015.  Contributions may be one-time or may be deducted each federal payroll...

As Dave Keiser, Friends founding President, prepares to retire from the Board, we wish to respectfully acknowledges his contributions.  As President of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Tennessee, Dave has had extensive experience creating new 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.  Beginning in 2011, Dave developed the Friends Charter, Bylaws, checking accounts, budget, website, email, TN Charitable Organization application and IRS applications.  Thanks almost entirely to his efforts, Friends was eventually granted our IRS 501(c)(3) status...
